Lately, I’ve been doing some deep thinking—the kind that doesn’t just skim the surface or tidy up your spice drawer. The real deal. The kind that cracks you open and asks: What actually matters?
Because let’s be honest: the world feels like it’s on fire. And not the “light a candle and set your intentions” kind of fire. More like the “we forgot to turn off the burner and now the kitchen’s engulfed” kind. Between the political circus, environmental despair, and the constant stream of bad news, it’s easy to spiral. It’s even easier to get numb.
But instead of losing myself in doomscrolling and despair-snacking (I see you, peanut butter crackers), I’ve chosen something different: to live on purpose.
I’m pouring that energy into my new book, a memoir-in-progress about what it means to slow down and really take inventory—of who I am, what I value, and how I want to show up in this world. It’s not about productivity or perfection. It’s about meaning. Connection. Truth-telling. It’s about asking hard questions and writing through the mess.

I’ve been walking more. Laughing with my wife (God, I love her). Watching my boys become their own people. Drinking the good coffee. Saying no to things that drain me and yes to things that feel like home.
So if you’re wondering what I’m up to over here—it’s this. I’m writing. I’m reflecting. I’m clinging to joy where I can find it. And I’m trying to be fully present with the people I love most. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real. And it’s mine.
Stay tuned for more updates on Damned Daughter, my latest book-baby in the making. Until then, may we all find the courage to live like it matters.

What a beautiful writer you are Lorinda! I, it seems, am on a similar journey. I just don’t always know how to put it down so eloquently in writing.
I feel blessed and proud to know you. Anytime we spend together is quality and meaningful especially if your beautiful Wife joins the fun!!
I look forward to reading more of your beautiful words. They are always therapeutic to me as well as many others.
You are a true blessing to so many!! xo
