I dream a midwinter night’s dream
Of hot cocoa topped with whipped cream
And a pine tree embellished head to toe
With ornaments from today and long ago

I imagine windows framed with lights softly glowing
Of a mantle with knit stockings hung near overflowing
I dream a midwinter night’s dream
Of sliding down snowy hills that gleam
White with the powder of new fallen snow
From which families of snowmen are sure to grow

And I hear bells ringing from grandpa’s horse
The one that pulls our sleigh with such force
I dream a midwinter night’s dream
Centered round a holiday theme

Where a jolly ol’ man who dresses in red
Sneakily drops presents while kids are in bed
And people all around and all about
Believe in the magic without a doubt
That this holiday’s meant to stretch far and wide
To everyone everywhere, all of mankind
